The script had changed. In the beginning it was going to be a story of tourism ventures and their importance to the state. It ended up being a journey of design principles that could endure the harshest conditions and a team of people who were soaking wet and covered in mud, but never gave up.

In 2004 we were asked by Forestry Tasmania to produce a broadcast quality film documenting the building of the Dismal Swamp tourism development on Tasmania’s rugged NW coast.

After 18 months, collecting 40 hours of vision and 14,000 kilometers travelled, the raw ingredients were there.

With a site that changed dramatically over the timeframe, the original draft script we developed was forced to change too.

When you produce a product that is of a long format, you need to keep your eye on the ball. As the post production process transpired it was surprising just how much fun it was to sit down and put the jigsaw together.

Due to the appalling weather that plagued the construction process, we were lucky enough to use this misfortune as a tool to show the resilience of the hard working building and management teams that coped so well in the harsh conditions.

The end result was fantastic...and fun.
